Welcome! I’m Happy to Meet You!
Hi! I’m Dr. Jennifer Knowles. Thank you for visiting!
I’d like to share a bit about my work as speaker, author, consultant, and professor.
I consider myself a passionate change agent who brings an extensive knowledge of education, experience, and knowledge to help unleash human potential. I’ve worked with public and private organizations, both large and small.
Shortly after I started my first job as an Assistant Buyer after graduating from the University of Michigan, I discovered how much I loved teaching professionals as I quickly transitioned to being a Corporate Trainer. Having a love of learning and wanting to share my knowledge with others, I then worked at two Universities: University of California San Francisco and University of Michigan. While working in Michigan, I earned a Masters of Science in Human Resources and Organizational Development, hoping that would help launch me into the field of OD. It worked! I accepted an exciting job at DFS Group Limited, a division of LVMH- Louis Moet Hennessey. There, I worked in nearly every aspect of Organizational Development and Human Resources and worked both domestically and abroad, as I helped professionals be their best at work.
My life reached a pivotal point when I wanted to live authentically and have work-life balance, and I realized with ambition comes sacrifice. I saw many of the senior executive women while thriving in their careers, lacking in other areas of their lives, and I didn’t want that to be me.
I decided to get a Ph.D in Organizational Learning, Performance and Change from Colorado State University and I started my own busines, Impactful Change, LLC. I wanted to take control of my life and my future.
The only constant in life is change. If we step into our strengths,
find the power within us, we can then create impactful change.
Since then, my research has focused on women in leadership, authenticity, social entrepreneurship, change, and human resource development, and qualitative research. I currently teach graduate students in these areas.
Life pivoted in a fun and unexpected way when my kids neighborhood charitable lemonade stand was shut down by police due to lack of permits and a complaint. Our story turned viral overnight. Turns out, kids lemonade stands were illegal in my city and state, and in many states across the country. Crazy, huh! I put my change expertise into action and we got lemonade stand laws and kid entrepreneurship laws changed in Colorado, and in 17 states across the country! I worked with Kraft Heinz Country Time lemonade, gave a TedX talk, and even wrote a Children’s Book, “Awesome Adventures of the Lemonade Boys.” Talk about turning lemons into lemonade stands, right?! I was even named by 5280 Magazine a “Disrupter of Denver” who is changing the face of city.
In addition to my professional work, I’m a proud mom of three awesome kids, am a wife, a daughter, a sister, a dog mom and even have a bearded dragon. I love to travel, hike, and walk along the beach. I am a positive thinker and find at least three things I’m grateful for every day.
I’d love to help you step into your strengths to live your greatest life.
Thank you!
